Morning journals are fast becoming part of everyone’s day because how you start your day will set the tone for the rest of your day. Set it right and you will move towards the things that make you happy. From fitness to diet, career goals or a better social life, the first few hours of every day are your most productive. And with the right mindset to go along with a big boost of morning energy, you can take clear action towards your happy life. Put these small triggers in place, and, strangely no will power is needed. When you have big goals and you feel the benefits during the day, its easy to keep going.
There are many ways to get your morning off to a great start, here a just a few to help you work out which is the best morning programme for you.
Morning Journal Ritual
The idea is simple enough, but there is more to this simple morning journal ritual. There are a few ways you can start your morning journal personal blog. One is to write 3 things you are grateful for. Reminding yourself that you are alive, in good health, thankful for the people in your life, for your job or your mindset, have been shown to put your life into perspective. No matter how bad things may appear to you, the act of gratitude can quickly change your attitude and help you take action, moving towards action and away from a powerless or victim mentality.
The next is to list 3 things that could make today great. That helps to focus the mind on the here and now. What do you need to achieve today. Its easy enough to list 3 things and don’t be surprised if they are not on the list tomorrow. By setting your subconscious to work you will move towards them even if you don’t achieve them completely.
You don't need to wait to get a special journal to begin, anything will do. Most don't recommend using a computer. There is something tactile about pen and paper, and the time it takes to put your thoughts down on paper. In the end, use what works for you.
These next few steps are the difference between a good year and a great year. Pick a date in 3 years and create your idea life. What does it look like, who is in it, what does it feel like and how do you feel? Write down the details. Over time the picture will get sharper as you fill in more and more of your future. Make it as real as possible. It needs to be strong, so that doubt and fear don’t make you down tools and give up.
Now write down the steps you need to take today to make that 3 year picture happen. Every good idea needs action to make the manifestation simpler and faster. You will be amazed what you can accomplish in 3 years when you consciously work towards it. You need other things in place too.
Morning Yoga Flow Programme
Yoga has been long held as a great morning ritual. It stills and focuses the mind. Like Tai Chi and other practices that focus on breathing with meaningful poses, the silence allows clarity and insight into our very busy minds.
Mixing this up with meditation is beneficial to your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. There are so many forms of yoga that you are bound to find one that suits you, your schedule and physical skill. Even if you are a beginner, this morning ritual is one worth following.
Even 10 minutes in the morning can help you to focus. Breathing calms you and the movement will get the blood flowing through your body into your muscles, organ and brain. Don’t be surprised if insights flow through from time to time. If you are new to yoga there are lots of free yoga flow sequences on Youtube and Pinterest that are as short as 10 minutes to follow or try this one below.
Breakfast
Breakfast is the time to break your fast from the night before. Some people love strong Bullet Proof coffee to get them going, others prefer fresh alkalizing juice with a handful of vitamins, and others like a boiled egg with toast.
Taking time to work out your best breakfast is worth the investment. If eating protein in the morning overloads your digestive system and makes you feel sluggish, go lighter and feel brighter, but don’t skip it. Playing with your sugar levels is never a good idea. Intermittent diets work but if you are struggling to get the most out of your morning, start your fast earlier the night before so you can finish the fast earlier the next morning.
Prioritise Your Morning
The first few hours of the day are your most productive. These previous steps won’t guarantee high productivity or great results if you focus on low priority tasks.
Your journal gives you an idea of what your high priority tasks are, and now its time to take action. Not all tasks can be completed in one sitting, but one step in the right direction is better than none at all, right?
For the first three hours, blocks of work can go a long way, making work in the afternoon when you are ready to wind down, a little easier. Knowing that strides towards your goals are under way, a daily dose of momentum can keep you motivated and confident that you will make it.
